You can watch the breakers rolling in on Black Point Beach. Spacious rooms and vaulted ceilings showcase contemporary architecture. A grand fireplace is the focal point of the living room. Upscale bathrooms include a jacuzzi tub in the master bath. Monette House offers 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Off the kitchen, a solarium features a large spa and a sliding door that can be opened to enjoy the sound of the ocean.
Due to the close proximity to the ocean bluffs, homeowner suggests guests age 12 and older occupy this home rental.. Free Internet Access. Two bedroom TV's are High Definition. Bed linens and towels are included with this rental.

  The house has perfect views and location. Amng the best in sea ranch. It is well stocked and has everything you can ever need. The folks at Beach Rentals were beyond helpful as they were dealing with lots of power-related issues in town from a big storm. The only thing to keep in mind is there are quite a few stairs to negotiate to every bedroom. That was fine for us but may not be for you.

  I called well ahead of my visit to check if the master bedroom was on the ground floor. I was assured it was. The master bedroom is not on the ground floor. The property is lovely and has a wonderful views. The house has an usual number of interior stairs and steps. Most rooms require two sets of stairs or steps to access the room. This is important information for anyone with mobility issues; this would be helpful in the Monette description.

  We spent Christmas week with three generations of our family and had a wonderful time. The home easily accommodated us and has generous space for people to be both together and apart. The location defies description - no photos can capture it. And the proximity to the Lodge was great - a handy destination for a family walk! Renters (especially with older members or youngsters) should be aware that there are lots of stairs in this home, the main staircase is bare wood and angled, so it was easy to slip on. Otherwise, this is a stunning home in a stunning location. Highly recommend!

  My family and I have been staying in Sea Ranch since the mid-1970's. To say the least, we love this area and the Monette Home didn't disappoint. My sister and her family have stayed at the Monette Home several times and it was highly recommended by them. We love all of the houses we've stayed in (and there have been many) over the past 46 years, but there always seems to be one or two things that we haven't cared for. Overall, the Monette Home is the best so far. To name a few of the pluses:
  1. The ocean view is outstanding
  2. The location is outstanding. It's very close to the bluffs for convenient walks to the beach and the Sea Ranch Lodge.
  3. The house itself is pretty old, but has been updated - nothing over the top, but nice.
  4. The furniture is comfortable which is very important.
  5. It's fully stocked with appliances, housewares, and firewood, including a hot tub.
  Overall, the house is great. The layout is great. It may need an annual deep cleaning, being so close to the ocean more frequent window cleaning, and a few incidental things fixed, but overall the house is great and I would definitely stay there again, hence the 5 star rating.

  Spectacular views. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture. Only one small drawback are the numerous stairs. If you have arthritis in your knees or difficulty going up and down stairs I would probably rent another place. On the other hand, just be careful going up and down and stay at a wonderful home.

  The Monette house was literally the spot where runners and walkers along the path in front of the home would stop in their tracks to take a photo because the view is so incredible. The breathtaking Sea Ranch coastline is at your doorstep. The house was incredibly clean and comfortable. We never wanted to leave! But when we did leave, we could walk to The Sea Ranch Lodge for delicious dinner or cafe snacks. Can't wait to go back!

  Between the outstanding quality of the house, amazing views, walking and hiking trails just steps away from the house, easy walking access to the lodge for drinks or a meal, or simply just sitting in the house watching the whales come into the little bay.   Spent 4 nights at Monette and the house could use some sprucing up. Great views of ocean from all rooms but a lot I would change. Very high ceilings in main area so huge echo and difficult to carry on some conversations. Cupboard door under sink hinge broke and fell off. Kitchen is completely separate from living area so anyone cooking is completely out of the conversation. Think the toilets are from the 70’s and the living room couch needs updating. Carpers need cleaning. Now for the good, well furnished with all kitchen basics and appliances. Great views f
  Great views, great views. Living room chairs very comfortable and great for sitting back and enjoying the view. We have been going to sea ranch for over 30 years and have very seldom gone back to the same house. Will probably be staying in Gualala houses from here on out as the fees have just gotten ridiculous at sea ranch. For the 4 nights we can save over $1000 with better views.

  We just returned home after a relaxing week at Monette. Not our first time in Sea Ranch, but first stay at Monette. The place is amazing. The view from the living area, through the large windows, looking to Black Point Beach is so beautiful. The bluff trail is just outside. The location just can't be beat. The rest of the house is clean, updated, modern. Water pressure in shower good. Kitchen has everything you would need to cook a couple of meals at home. Gualala is a 20 min drive north for Surf Market, Surf Market BBQ, Upper Crust Pizza, Trinks, and Ranch Cafe - for food. Beach Rental office was easy to book with. We hope to return soon, this was a great stay!

  We've been enjoying Sea Ranch vacations for over 30 years. We've stayed in at least 15 different homes but we always come back to MONETTE. Ocean front on a cliff overlooking a beautiful cove with floor to ceiling windows....a front row seat. Deer, wild turkeys, fox, bobcats, quails, eagles, albatross, pelicans, whales, sea lions, harbor seals, sea otters ALL FROM THE COMFORTABLE CHAIRS OCEAN FRONT. We've hiked for miles and walked the beach. The house is beyond comfortable and there's a MAGIC that makes you forget everything that's going on in the world except right there looking out at the magnificent Pacific Ocean. We're so grateful to the owner of this amazingly beautiful home for sharing the splendor that we'd never know otherwise. The Sea 's like going to church.

  We escaped to The Sea Ranch during Covid for a change of pace, and The Monette home was wonderful. The view of Black Point Beach to the south is spectacular, and sunsets to the west were stunning. Only a small suggestion - the kitchen window was dirty and made the view less plea until I cleaned it. The hot tub windows are also dirty.

  Three friends spent a long weekend at Monette and found it a gorgeous home with spectacular views. The kitchen is well-designed and well-equipped. We did not use the hot tub but it was to have it there. The only heads up issues are (1) to optimize the view and architectural interest there are stairs in unexpected places and they are not easy to see given the flooring design, so be careful; and (2) there are no window coverings for the main public areas (living room, dining room) so it gets warm and you are in a bit of a fishbowl since the house is oceanfront and right next to the trail. Every bedroom has a view and while the bedrooms are not equal all are very nice.

  I really haven't kept count, but this was at least our tenth stay at Monette House, the last seven in consecutive years. That says it all about our attitude toward the property. We have never been disappointed. The view is incomparable and the house is well-located, elegantly decorated and comfortable. Lucid instructions for the use of all of its equipment are provided. We will keep coming back. The only sad note on this visit was the recent failure of Sea Ranch Lodge and its Black Point Grill, to which the house was very conveniently located..

  This vacation place has been indelibly printed on my mind and in my spirit! I have traveled a lot, however, I have never stayed at such a magnificent place. The mountain and sea coast views are spectacular! From breaching whales, lazing sea lions, grazing deer - the flora and fauna of Sea Ranch is remarkable!
  Our home, the Monette, situated on a cliff, with a 180 degree view over looking Black Beach and the Pacific was more than we could ever have imagined.
  Our 5 days was too short. However, we left with our spirits filled with appreciation and thankfulness for this beautiful vacation experience.
  PS. My husband and I had dinner at the Sea Ranch Lodge. Great experience! Food was delicious and the sunset views we spectacular.

  We were delighted with our stay at Monet. The proximity to the Sea Ranch trail was an advantage for the older members of the family who enjoyed brief walks as well as whale watching from the comfort of the living and dining room. The home was spotlessly clean, there were appropriate kitchen utensils and plenty of dish towels (always a concern when renting). Everyone who stayed with us was overjoyed with the location and layout of the home. As an aside, I would recommend if there are older adults to bring a rubber mat for the shower in the master bedroom--the tile floor is quite slippery. We enjoyed two great excursions, Point Arenas and the San Andreas Fault earthquake walk near the Hot Spot. As many times as we have enjoyed going to Sea Ranch, we had never done the earthquake walk. It was fascinating and dovetailed well with learning about the 1906 destruction of the Point Arenas Lighthouse.

  Monette was one of many homes we have rented at Sea Ranch. Monette is our favorite to date. Architecturally stunning, and beautifully furnished inside and out.   We had a wonderful three days staying in Sea Ranch at Monette house. The house was very clean and comfortable, with a wonderful view of the ocean from every room in the house. We watched a sea otter one morning and surfers another. The outside of the house, sadly, was another story. It is in dire need of maintenance and repair. Hopefully the owners are working to make the outside of the house as appealing as the inside. P.S. NOT a criticism: It would be helpful to supply a sponge, or something of that nature, along with the dish towels in the kitchen. We used the three cotton towels supplied plus paper towels to clean the kitchen and counters. It felt wasteful and against the "eco friendly" environment of Sea Ranch. A sponge would be inexpensive and could be used for general cleaning, or even tossed after each rental.
