  We had three days of dense, unrelenting fog but could still make out the edge of the ocean from the house. We rode our bikes, went for walks, played tennis and swam in the heated pool at the Del Mar Recreation Center. We loved the house. I thought it was
  even more attractive than the photos suggest. Terrific floor plan. Large rooms with attractive and comfortable furniture. Well-equipped kitchen, wonderful dining area. Nice views from every room and a great deck. The Hedgerow Hideaway is aptly named. Tucked
  between two hedgerows (or nestled in the center of one?), you cannot see another house from it, so it has an ultra-private feel. A hot tub would be a nice addition to complement the privacy. This was not a requirement for us, but perhaps it is on the owners'
  to-do list... We stayed here with our two adult children and the house worked fine for us. It would be ideal for two couples, as the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house and each has an adjoining bathroom. Very nice place!

  I loved the secluded location with easy access to all the trails. Hearing the surf from the house was lovely! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars to the cleanliness question was the spider webs in several of the windows - not a big deal, though. Even though we were able to figure it out, running the TV / DVD player, etc. was a bit confusing with four remotes... Loved the internet access - allowed me to keep up with my work. Appreciated the books / DVDs /games in the house as well! Thanks for a lovely home!

  The best things were the quiet and the constant sound of the surf. I love being among trees, and this house had that as well as an unimpeded view of water through a swath of commons. I liked the hidden entrance. The house is well laid-out, with almost more spaciousness than we liked--but we are short people and understand the owners are tall! Very well-equipped kitchen and comfortable bed in master bedroom (again, we had to climb *up* to get into the bed!). Suggestions/problems: lighting in living-room not quite enough for reading (we are readers--it's one reason we go to Sea Ranch--to catch up on reading); step-stool would be nice to reach high shelves in kitchen; furnace went on in middle of night, breaking the nice cool; entertainment section (TV, etc.) needs more explicit directions for simple folk like us--hard for us to figure out how to work CD player and get TV picture--we did eventually. Otherwise, a wonderful stay.

  even though there was internet, it was not wireless, would have been nice to know ahead
  excellent location, and privacy is unsurpassed
