  Our family of 4 plus 1 dog had a wonderfully cozy, beautifully restful vacation at our Sea Ranch vacation rental. This home was perfect for all of us, with an awesome location just steps away from the ocean and Walk-on Beach. The views of the ocean, meadows, and forests from the living room, kitchen, and loft were expansive and serene. The outdoor jacuzzi worked wonderfully for evening relaxing & stargazing. Indoors, we felt cozy & warm as we made our meals and family time working on a 1000 piece puzzle the kids found, along with other puzzles and games. Bedrooms & bathrooms were clean and comfortable. One minor suggestion for improvement would be to upgrade the dishes & utensils available in the kitchen, since many of the plates & bowls had chips and breaks on the edges. The home was not quite well-appointed enough to cook a large Thanksgiving dinner, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The weather was probably the best I’ve experienced at TSR in years- sunny, clear, crisp. My folks have lived at TSR for 25+ years, and I’ve loved visiting them and having space for my family... I would love to stay at Sea Pine again!!!

  Sea Pine has many wonderful features. It is a really dog friendly rental with two enclosed spaces for a dog to use for play and relief. The wood floors have industrial grade carpets so clean up is easy. The view to the ocean is wonderful and unobstructed and nicely, the large window to the road has a tree blocking walkers from viewing your meal. There are windows on three sides in the main kitchen/living/eating area with a spacious deck. There are two complete bathrooms and an outdoor shower. The hottub is on a separate deck with a pull down area to see the ocean but still have privacy. The drawbacks? It is a one bedroom rental, although the rental agency lists it as accommodating 4. Those extra two people (thin and tiny) would have to use a tight circular stair to get to a crowded sleeping area with wall hooks and two straight back chairs. There is NO storage. The only closet is in the bedroom and it is jammed with a vacuum, extra pillows, fans, etc.The kitchen area works reasonably well but the shelves and cupboards are cluttered with too much stuff ---- 24 drinking glasses alone on the first shelf, and I would guess there were another four dozen of glasses on other shelves. Three plastic strainers, four or five measuring cups, and on and on. And as other renters have noted, Sea Pine is rustic and in need of some upgrading/rethinking of its space. We had to call the agency because the shower didn't work. (Turned out it was an impossibly stiff handle so not major -- just a pain.) Someone with an eye to what a guest needs could easily make Sea Pine a more comfortable and better organized rental. Sea Pine reminds me of a family cottage on the East Coast that was in our family for over five decades --- as time went on, we got accustomed to the places' quirks and tattiness. A potential Sea Pine renter has to think whether they want to pay $200 to $300+ per night for shabby chic.

  Sea Pine is in an excellent location. It has a distant ocean view and is close to the sea bluff trail and others. It is also close to Gualala for groceries and restaurants. The home was comfortable with deer visiting in the meadow. My only recommendation is the kitchen needs new pots and pans. They were Teflon and the surfaces were scratched and bubbled. Teflon is toxic, so I didn’t feel comfortable using them.

  This small home is ideally located. However, upon arrival, we removed and aggressively cleaned the 2 blinds in the bedroom. They were absolutely filthy, with layers and layers of grime and dirt (looked like they had not be cleaned in 10 years). Many cobwebs throughout the home. The stove could use a light above it for easier cooking. The blankets that are available for use were mostly either dirty or quite tattered (or both). We did find 2 usable ones. This home clearly needs some deep cleaning (kitchen cabinets, drawers, blinds, etc.) and normal upgrades. We did contact Beach Rentals with pictures of some of the items mentioned here.

  We have been coming to sea ranch for ~20 years renting houses. Sea Pine is clean, and very comfortable! The location is perfect. Its a short walk to the bluff trail and not far from two great beaches. Also, the drive into town is just a few miles. This home is dog friendly which is a big plus. We loved this house. The rental company has been great too! There was actually people in the office when we arrived! And a number to call if there were any issues (which every thing was great). Another rental company was horrible and unreachable when we came at Christmas time. We will definitely rent from Beach Rentals again.

  This is the perfect house for two! (I don't think another couple would want to sleep on window seats in the loft, especially if you need to get up in the night! Good for kids only!) We were warm and cozy as we watched the coastal storm fling the waves high in the air! We did finally lose power, but not until the morning we were leaving. We did think we could still cook breakfast on the gas range, but it needed electricity to generate the spark to ignite the gas. And alas, no matches or "clicker" to be found! So no breakfast! Next time we will bring our own matches. Also you will have to bring your own hair dryer if needed. Hot tub was great, even in a storm. This was our second time at this house, and we'll be back.

  This was our first stay at Sea Pine and it was great! The property has an entirely fenced side yard (plus doggie door from the hot tub area) which was a huge plus for our pup. There is also a small (low) wire fence not pictured which creates a mini backyard around the deck. So if you have a small dog or not a jumper the dog can be in the back while you sit on the deck and look at the ocean. House is small, but perfect for couples. You would be pressed to fit more people.
  
  Only negatives- no washer/dryer (this would be a problem for longer stays). Description says there's a grill, but it was definitely missing when we visited.

  The house is small and perfect for two. It's well designed and the location is perfect. It has a great view of the blue water, and is a very short walk to the bluff. The hot tub is hot and the internet works well. When the dishwasher stopped working, management sent someone immediately. I left something on the property and management retrieved it and mailed it to me. We've been going to Sea Ranch for 35 years, and we'll make a point of returning to this property.

  This vacation at Sea Pine was actually a honeymoon gift to our daughter and new son-in-law. They LOVED the whole Sea Ranch vibe, and took advantage of being on the coast. They shopped in Gualala, explored Point Arena, browsed the tzotzche shops, hiked the trails, and fished off the rocks at Walk-On beach.
  They enjoyed the house and hot tub, and found the house to be very dog friendly. Our daughter wants to remind future renters to bring their own hair dryer, and any spices they might need. The bbq was great, as were the linens provided. The location is PRIME if you want to hang out on Sea Ranch's best beach...Walk-On. My husband and I will definitely rent this house in the future, based on our daughter's recommendation.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our 7-night stay at Sea Pine. This cozy, comfortable cottage near the bluffs was just what we needed. The views from the large windows are so peaceful and lovely, we couldn't stop staring toward the Pacific. It was easy to just relax and be in the moment.
  
  The bed was a little soft for our taste, but comfortable enough. There was plenty of dresser/closet space for our clothes. The bathrooms were clean and nicely decorated in the same beach-y theme as the rest of the house.
  
  The kitchen had everything we needed. We even baked cookies! The appliances, wi-fi, spa, and BBQ grill were all in good working order and we took full advantage of all of them. We especially enjoyed the spa, and loved the view of the ocean through the drop-gate in the privacy wall.
  
  The outdoor shower is fun, but it needs a soap dish and towel hook nearby.
  
  Our back yard had visits from quail, bunnies, jack rabbits, and deer. The walking trails nearby lead us to wonderful views of bluffs, beaches, and pounding surf.
  
  We had a wonderful time in Sea Ranch, Gualala, and Mendocino. We timed our trip to be around for the Art in the Redwoods festivities at Gualala Art Center. We enjoyed the "Hats Off Dinner", champagne preview, and art festival. We even took advantage of the opportunity to volunteer at GAC to help set up the show.
  
  Bowling Ball Beach had some exceptionally low tides during our visit, so we had a chance to see the beach at its best. Such an unusual place!
  
  We were very happy to find that a couple new restaurants had opened recently. We loved the food and views at Vue Kitchen and had a fun dinner with friends at the Gualala Hotel restaurant. We cooked most of our meals at the Sea Pine, though.
  
  We took advantage of the cute loft, using it as an "exercise studio" each morning. The sunshine and breezes through the windows made our stretching time a joy. The extremely tight spiral stairs leading to it were

  Our Sierran camping ideas having been burned/smoked/hazed out, we headed for the coast and were super-happy we did. This house is great for the right family of four: kids sleep in the loft, we slept in the bedroom. Generally a perfect spot, and we'd happily return. We had but two beefs: a twin bed was listed, but turned out to be non-existent, and a Sea Ranch rental without a coffee grinder is a dire situation indeed. :)

  Adults and dogs jumped at the chance to escape the pending Fourth of July fireworks in the city. Our choices were limited for the type of home we could choose, but the Sea Pine as described was perfect. This is a very dog friendly home, (doggie door was fantastic), great fenced yard and area, a very warm and welcoming decor with wonderful views of the ocean. Main concern was the lack of fastidious house cleaning. Since the dishwasher did not work well we rewashed every dish and the cutlery that we needed. The oven and the refrigerator are new and they work very well as did the "old school" Quazar microwave. Hot tub was very relaxing and the Weber was an appreciated bonus. This house just needs someone to take the time to scrub the baseboards, the tile throughout, the kitchen cabinets, drapes, and rewash all of the kitchen supplies. Luckily we had read previous reviews and we brought a lot of our own cookware special knives and mugs. Overall we really had a good time in this home and appreciated the layout. Very comfortable bed! It was great fun and we would rent here again but with only two adults because the spiral staircase is very tight/steep for older less agile folks. We are still happy with our overall experience.

  Loved the location, ocean view (across a meadow), fenced yard surrounding the ocean-view deck. I was able to sit on the deck with my dog, thanks to the fence. That’s rare, for Sea Ranch. The bed was comfortable. The place has charm. The negatives: 1) the septic system or leach field must not be in great shape, because there are signs asking the showers be short, running of water limited, and toilet paper use limited. Really, I should worry about this issue when I’m paying for a vacation rental? I didn’t experience a problem — but I was the only person in the house, and I DID limit water and toilet paper use. 2) Little storage space — the bedroom closet holds the vacuum cleaner and cleaning tools bucket; little kitchen “pantry” space. 3) you need to take not only sheets, but comforter and pillows. Master bedroom had a thin bedspread, one thin blanket, old pillows; 3)take your own bakeware (ovenware). I had to buy a foil pan at the Surf to make a casserole. 4) Bedroom is small. In spite of these negatives, I will rent this place again., because of the location, view, and fenced yard.

  The Sea Pine Lodge was a perfect getaway for myself and my spouse on a long weekend. The location was a quick walk from multiple beaches, offered a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, and above all was perfectly clean when we arrived. After looking at the pictures online during the booking process we were pleasantly surprised to find that the interior is even more charming than in photos and provides great views of the meadow and ocean beyond.   We have enjoyed our get aways to sea ranch for near 15 years. We have stayed at a variety of places and this rates in our top 3. The size for two and location. The easy access and quick walk to the beach was the best. The house is situated so you view the ocean and yet far enough back to feel like a little hide away. I like to cook so next time Ill bring a few more of my own cookware and tools. We loved this place as it worked so well for us and our young rescue dog. I would of liked the cabinets wiped down better around knobs and thicker pillows. Glad we brought a fluffy blanket though they had to offer. We will rent again in future visits. I'll bring cleaning wipes and my pillow. Rest of home clean and well kept. I did prewash everything we used as most needed it. Nothing was a bother as we still liked everything else. Has an enclosed entrance and hose or outdoor shower. Enclosed hot tub area. Also enclosed back patio area with ocean view. Take a chance I think you'll be pleased. Especially those with your behaved dogs as lots of deer and rabbits come right up to patio and in view as lots of big windows. Cozy and open space design with great natural light. Could use light over stove but not an issue. Has a small upstairs lounge area as well.

The gas fire kept the place warm, the bed was cozy, and there was a nice hot tub to relax in as well. The location is perfect too, a short 3 minute walk to the water! Also liked that the back yard was fenced off, which was perfect for letting the pups go outside

  I extended my stay from another house to this one. I am so glad I did! I have stayed in many homes in sea ranch for the past 15 years and the Sea Pine is a gem! It sleeps two comfortably sharing a queen bed. The view is close and fantastic and just a short walk to our favorite sandy beach. I enjoyed playing cards with my grandson and reading up in the loft while watching the ocean. The fenced in dog friendly area was perfectly secure. The view of the ocean from the hot tub was heavenly, The DVD player was easily navigated, wi fi was down but beach rentals provided a mobile device for me to use in the interim, this was my first time renting via Beach Rentals and will use them in the future, I found them to be most warm, friendly and helpful. Most importantly in the Sea Pine I felt welcome by the owners. They even provided a Beach Journal for renters to share their memories which I thought was very special. The down side to this home which is still worth the stay is linens are not provided and there is no washer/ dryer so the blankets still had an "aroma" of previous users which was a bit distasteful but fortunately I had brought a couple of my own. Most of the kitchenware was adequate but the knives and metal bakeware such as cookie sheet and muffin tins left a lot to be desired but I was so happy there it really didn't matter.

  Sea Pine was the perfect spot for my husband and I. The place is well equipped for a rental. The kitchen could definitely use more pots/pans to cook with but I will bring my own the next time. Not a deal breaker at all. The bed is comfy and the place is clean. Perfect window/deck for ocean/deer viewing and sunset cocktail hour. The hot tub has a sneaky pull down so you can get an ocean view - nice touch. And the house is located on the north end which is great for us. you can walk to Walk On beach as well as the seal pup sanctuary. Lucky for us we saw a seal give birth. Amazing. The loft upstairs was perfect for our daily naps and they are super dog friendly.

  The Sea Ranch is a regular get away location for my husband and I.
  We are discovering there are no "bad" properties or unit locations along this beautiful pristine coastline setting. Sea Pine is a close walk to the bluff trail and close to amazing Del Mar Rec Center infinity lap pool. The best! Bring your bike; great base location. Deer are regulars in the yard within full view of your living room or deck. The entire back of the house looks toward the Pacific. Outside, all you hear are the birds and ocean surf. Inside, the distant muffled sound of crashing waves is a constant. Sea Pine is perfect if you are looking for a cozy beach cottage. We were there in January, large waves, blue water and white water views. The morning we read on a national news alert, "coldest month of the century", we were sitting in sun on the deck's adirondack chairs drinking our coffee. Barely a breeze; no wind. Amazing! Check in/ out is effortless, the agents are all like ambassadors and will help you find a location and property perfect for your stay. Think about the best concierge service you ever experienced; This agency would be right up there! Enjoy YOUR stay!

  The Sea Pine is a wonderful escape destination. It is situated in a perfect meadow, which is close to Walk On beach.We have stayed here several times and it's always clean and welcoming. The staff are awesome at Beach Rentals. We have been visiting Sea Ranch for 20 years and always return. We have used Beach Rentals for 13 years. The only suggestion I have is that the coffee pot and the pots and pans be upgraded. Most folks who stay in a "home" as opposed to a hotel do their own cooking. Even slightly upgrading these items would enhance the cooking experience.

The bed was pretty uncomfortable, soft and saggy in the middle, achy backs in the morning, therefore we would search for a different rental next time, and we will come up again.   This is the best and most serene vacation we have had. The place is not the absolutely closest one to the ocean, but on the other hand the ocean view is totally panoramic from within because of skylights and windows. Overall the most relaxing and beautiful experience.

  The loft needs a reading lamp for the evening.Light above the kitchen sink was out. This made the stove lignting a bit dim. But these are minor comments and we love our stay at Sea Pine and will return annually.

  My wife, our two dogs, and I had a magical stay at Sea Pine! It location is great and it is the perfect size for two people and two dogs. The loft provides a panoramic view of the meadow and ocean, it is a quick walk to the cliff trails and the beach. When we were there the weather alternated between storms and sun and this was exactly what we wanted/needed. We were sad to leave but well rested and recharged.

  We have stayed at Sea Ranch often over 30 years...this is one of the best rentals. Very clean...you would never know they allow dogs! The decor is comfortable and the location great to walk to the beach...Walk-on-Beach which is spacious and great for beachcombing. The property is well maintained...the cleared area safe to let your dog out,and the patio cozy and clean. The deck has a panoramic view and the spa is great! The loft is a bonus!

  Needs more kitchen amenities. Definitely needs a new coffee maker and coffee maker needs deep cleaning before new guests arrive. We have stayed at Sea Pine for the last 6 years and enjoy it, but instead of providing more for guests, each year they provide
  less and less. A clean sponge and more kitchen utensils like a cookie tray etc... would make it more enjoyable. A new grill etc... Overall we love the house and location. Great for our golden retriever who loves Sea Ranch.
