Beach House

Unit 28 Lot 78: This private ocean meadow home is a short walk to Walk on Beach and features very nice blue water ocean views. Spacious with a great flow and layout, enjoy the views from the living room, kitchen and three bedrooms or relax on the private deck with a hot tub. Main heat source is a woodstove located in the living room with baseboard heating in the bedrooms.

  The windows were really dirty - but when I complained the management did send someone out to clean them. That made a huge difference. Also the window seats had lots of dirt that I cleaned up myself.
  Once we got the windows and house cleaned up, it was nice. Beds weren't so great though. Kitchen was great and location is perfect. So I think the house needs to be in better condition upon arrival given the high rent.

• This our 27th year in a row for at least a week at Sea Ranch in the summer. We have stayed with Beach Rentals in nine different homes during that time. We love Sea Ranch and the Beach house, obviously after 27 years uninterupted. More comments below.

  Love the golf course, do what it takes to keep it solvent please. This is our fifth year in a row at the Beach House and love it, and 27th year with Beach Rentals. As I told the property manager the house is starting to show certain significant and irritating maitenance issues, specifically: the view windows are so fogged inside the two glass panes it is very hard to see the great view. The sliding screen doors are old, won't slide and take a great deal of effort to open. Not near enough from keeping us coming back, but the only disappointing thing about our stay. Our one week stay was about $2,500, close to the amount needed to replace these two problems. Since we plan on using this house again for our 28th, 29th, 30th etc years, please encourage the owner to make these repairs. Thank you! Steve and Vicki

  The overall stay at the Beach House was excellent. The house could use more forks especially if there is a group of 6 people or more. The house had no dish towels so it was difficult to wipe wet items coming out of the dishwasher and any hand washed items. The electric sub panel behind the picture should somehow be marked. All minor problems. we plan on staying with Beach Rentals and the Beach House next year.

• Some repairs needed. Major moisture/fogging of dual pane windows detracts greatly from the views and overall satisfaction. Replace older/rotten deck chairs. That said, it is a nice house with good location. Rental staff are great!

  The Beach House is very large and airy, and is well-appointed with furniture, accessories, and entertainment (a nice home theater setup, board games, books, kids' play room, etc.). The ocean view hot tub and newer kitchen, in particular, were excellent. Location near trails and the ocean was ideal. We truly enjoyed our stay and would return again, although it would more likely be in the summer months and with company. Where the property needs work is with the heating. Although there are two space heaters and a large wood stove, maintaining a comfortable temperature required vigilant effort and took several hours of tending the wood stove in the mornings, which required frequent trips to the outdoor wood pile. The fan intended to circulate heat from the loft made buzzing sounds that prevented its use, and the stove fan made similar noises on higher settings. It seems like the need to replace older components of the system has been overlooked. The property would benefit from a second wood stove in the master bedroom and additional electric baseboard heaters (which are presently in one of the two guest rooms). Otherwise closing doors to unused rooms is required, but this wouldn't be possible with company. Overall I would recommend this property primarily for its location and ocean views. In the summer, this would be perfect for a large family or two or three couples to celebrate the 4th of July. It is somewhat large for two people.
